AI Usage & Credits ⚖️

Our AI features are metered to help cover compute costs and to provide fair usage. Below is how we track and bill AI usage across plans.

How usage is recorded
When the server generates AI content we record a minimal usage event (no prompts or PII) and update a per-user usage counter so we can meter credits fairly.
  • We record a small event in Firestore for each AI generation.
  • Usage is estimated from the generated output (heuristic).
  • Only minimal metadata is stored: flow name, status, estimated usage, timestamp (no prompts or raw user input).
Credits & plans
Usage is measured in credits for plan limits and top-ups.
  • Conversion: Credits are calculated from estimated AI usage.
  • Default allotments: Free: 100 credits • Innovator: 300 credits • Life Changer: 1000 credits.
  • Admins may top up or reset credits; all adjustments are audited.

Requests to AI endpoints must include a verified Firebase idToken in the Authorization: Bearer <idToken> header so we can attribute usage securely to the correct account. For local testing you can follow the steps in our README (dev bypass available only when explicitly enabled).
